Pharma division launched by Howorth

Howorth Airtech has launched a dedicated pharmaceutical division, Howorth Pharma, to satisfy the growing demand for protection from potent materials and chemical hazards. The new division will provide containment booths, laminar flow units and custom solutions for the global pharmaceutical industry, and offers a complete service that encompasses turnkey projects, design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and after-sales and support.

Recent projects, worth £3m (US$4.3m), include work for Schering-Plough in Singapore, Pfizer in Singapore, AstraZeneca in the UK and Bayer in the US.

Managing director Leonard Morris said: 'Building on our reputation in the development and supply of ultra clean air technology for clinical applications, we offer a comparable service to the pharmaceutical industry for the supply of containment and environmental control technology.

The creation of a wholly separate, dedicated division enables us to focus our expertise and build a closer working relationship with clients.'
