Pharma lab range suits small users

A range of high quality pharmaceutical equipment for laboratory and low volume manufacturing applications is now available in the UK from Nupol Machinery, the new equipment division of Packaging Overhaul.

Manufactured in Italy by Multigel, the range includes the CPE-4 bench-top electronic tablet counter, able to handle capsules and tablets up to 15mm in length or diameter at speeds in excess of 3,000/min.

For capsule filling applications requiring up to 2,500 filled capsules/h there is the MC100 Minicapdue, which can dose powder accurately into 100 capsules at a time. It is also available with a unit for introducing small tablets into capsules.

The MS-1 is an automatic capsule inserter for the placement of capsules into filling trays. This unit can be used in conjunction with the MS-6 capsule filler to enable up to 14,000 capsules/h to be produced; output can be increased further by feeding two MS-6 fillers from the MS-1.

Liquid filling systems include the Manual Dosafluid peristaltic filler that can fill at a rate of 500ml/min and is available with a variety of nozzles to handle different viscosities. There is also the Automatic Dosafluid, fitted with a rotary table to transport containers to and from the filling head, enabling a single operator to maximise output.

Other equipment manufactured by Multigel includes the MP-100 Easystrip, a small unit for filling powders, liquids or paste into sachets and the MP1/2 powder mixer for the thorough mixing of powdered pharmaceutical products.
