The differentiator is not simply access to AI, but the maturity of the digital infrastructure underpinning it.
Those with mature, well-integrated systems and reliable data are better positioned to embed AI throughout the pharmaceutical value chain and accelerate everything from early-stage research and development to clinical trials.
For organisations with fragmented IT systems, inconsistent data and disconnected workflows, however, AI is unlikely to solve existing inefficiencies and could even expose existing weaknesses.
The result is a widening divide between digitally mature organisations that can turn AI into a competitive advantage and those still building the foundations to do so.
