Plug-in IR gas detection

New from AMGas is the LED Point PRS, a pellistor replacement infrared flammable gas detector suitable for fine chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing and storage sites which are or need to be COMAH registered (Control of Major Accident Hazards).

LED Point PRS uses specifically designed LED emitters to generate the infrared signals required to analyse the atmosphere. These require significantly less power than existing infrared devices, and can be retrofitted with pellistor-based sensors.

The AMGas unit is said to provide failsafe detection without the need to upgrade existing installations. Obscuration output is available and the detector is designed to fit within current field mounted terminal boxes with a three-wire connection replicating completely a pellistor circuit.
