Protein precipitation benefits from new plate

Published: 2-Nov-2005

Porvair Sciences, a supplier of applications-focused microplate technology, has added a new p3 protein precipitation plate to its range of microplate products for drug discovery laboratories.

Readily integratable into automated systems, it is said to solve the traditional sample breakthrough, clogging and waste problems associated with the CRASH method of protein removal.

Based on the industry standard Microlute, it significantly increases productivity in comparison to traditional protein precipitation techniques and offers all the advantages of automated and high throughput SPE sample preparation, processing as many as 96 samples simultaneously. It also features a novel frit matrix and treatment, meaning that there is no 'wetting out' and leaking of the sample through the plate.

The full range of Porvair Deep-well plates, including a new sterile deep-well plate range for sensitive microbiological and cellular samples, is available in a choice of volumes, plate formats and surface treatments, all of which are optimised to cover a wide range of applications in drug discovery.
