A new and specialist metering pumps division, known as Signal, has been established by Gee & Company of Birmingham. As part of its launch programme, Signal has rationalised and re-branded its wide range of pumps into three groups. Bran + Luebbe, Lightnin Mixers and Waukesha Cherry-Burrell have been brought together by SPX to form a single international business entity, SPX Process Equipment. This development sees the Bran + Luebbe plant at Brixworth, UK, becoming one of the main supply centres for SPX process equipment for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

ProMinent Fluid Controls' new version of its EXtronic dosing pump is now fully compliant with the latest ATEX directive, EG-EX-directive 94/9/EG. The short-stroke solenoid drive and complete pump control are integrated in the pump housing where the drive is not only protected against explosions, but also has contact and moisture protection IP65 in accordance with DIN 40050 even when the front cover is open. The EXtronic pumps have a capacity range from 0.23 -60 l/hr, and the liquid ends are available in Plexiglas, polypropolyene, Teflon, stainless steel 1.4404 or SB for combustible media.
