Purified water at the touch of a button
Vivendi Water Systems has launched a hot water sanitisable water purification system designed specifically to comply with the stringent standards and regulations governing the pharmaceuticals sector.
Orion is a pre-validated integrated system that complies with the latest GAMP, cGMP and FDA requirements. It comes with complete validation documentation and pre-delivery tests, which ensures rapid installation and minimal site disruption.
At the heart of the Orion system is the newly designed wide-cell CDI-LX (continuous electro deionisation) module. This is said to offer improved electro deionisation, while maintaining chemical-free regeneration and reduced rinse cycle times. Prior to entering the CDI-LX module, the water is conditioned by a reverse osmosis (RO) unit, which removes up to 97% of dissolved inorganics and more than 99% of total dissolved organics, colloids and particles, as well as providing significant removal of microbial species.
This combination of RO and CDI-LX is the safest, most reliable chemical-free water purification process, claims Vivendi. Additional security against microbial contamination is provided by a UV disinfection stage prior to storage and distribution.
Optional pre-treatment is available for both low and high salinity feed water conditions, with high CO2 levels controlled by the optional degasser membrane.
An integrated PLC provides automated control, with optional capacity to control other stages of the process, such as storage and distribution.
