Building on their expertise in the areas of new catalyst technologies and transition metal catalysis, Reaxa and custom manufacturer RohnerChem have announced a collaboration to progress the application of EnCat catalysts at production scale.
EnCat catalysts address many of the issues associated with the use of homogenous catalysts, including metal loss and product contamination which are minimised. EnCat can also allow more efficient processing, leading to a reduction in the total cost of production.
Following successful collaboration on initial screening and process development, it is planned to proceed with the scale up of commercial EnCat applications at RohnerChem's facilities in Switzerland.
Dr Markus Wyss, head marketing & sales, said: "RohnerChem provide transition metal catalysis as a core technology and we consider that employing Reaxa's cutting-edge EnCat products will allow us to offer the benefits of these catalysts to our customers in addition to homogenous catalysis."
RohnerChem focuses on speciality and fine chemical custom synthesis, making advanced intermediates and APIs on an exclusive basis for customers in the pharmaceutical industry.
