Recipharm completes Korean serialisation project for Abbott
Contract development and manufacturing organisation continues international roll-out
Contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) Recipharm has completed a complex serialisation project for Abbott. The initiative, which commenced in April 2014, involved meeting precise customer and market requirements to produce a data matrix code, including serial number, with full compliance with complex EU-like regulations.
The CDMO applied its internationally adaptable solution, designed to achieve full compliance with country specific regulations, to a blister packaging line. Validation batches are now being manufactured, released and shipped to Korea.
From the outset, integration formed a key tenet of the project with the establishment of joint company strategic teams and the sharing of critical information. Costs were kept to a minimum and full implementation was achieved.
'Once again, our serialisation platform solution has proved the extent of its adaptability and resourcefulness for differing geographic and multicountry regulatory requirements,' said Stephane Guisado, General Manager at Recipharm in Fontaine. 'Indeed, in this case, it ensured that our customer complied in full with the relevant serialisation regulations set down by Korea. We look forward to rolling out further projects during 2015.’
