Reducing radio risks

UK company Peak Technologies has expanded its range of radio frequency mobile solutions with the introduction of Symbol's new intrinsically safe (I-Safe) series of hand-held computers and wireless network infrastructure.

The I-Safe Series meets the stringent ATEX 95 - Directive 94/9/EC certification requirements for use in hazardous locations where flammable gases, vapours or liquids are present. Specifically engineered for companies that operate in hazardous environments, it provides all the benefits of mobile solutions, says Peak Technologies, delivering accuracy, traceability and validation of inventory movements in the supply chain.

To maximise application efficiency, Peak offers two I-Safe devices: the penbased Symbol PPT 2800 and key-based Symbol PDT 8100. The PDT 8100 is available with either a 28-key numeric keypad, or a 37- or 47-key alphanumeric keypad.
