Revolutionary hardness testers from Sotax

Sotax, the Swiss tablet machine manufacturer, has developed a complete new line of Hardness Testers, which is available in manual, semi-automatic and fully automated versions.

The fully automated unit measures hardness, diameter, thickness and weight automatically. All systems are equipped with the revolutionary Auto Alignment device (patent pending).

Until the development of this machine, irregularly shaped dosage forms e.g. rectangular, often aligned improperly, which led to incorrectly measured results. The new Auto Alignment machine will automatically align all common forms of tablets in less than one second.

Sotax has also implemented an easy way of calibrating the new range of hardness testers. Instead of using a 5-30kg weight, which is often difficult to handle, manufacturers can now use an electronic calibration tool that will do the work for them. The software used in the new machines is flexible and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant.
