Robin Engineering ventures into pharmaceuticals
Robin Engineering Services, the UK materials handling and processing systems specialist, has reached an agreement with the Chamunda Corporation, of India, to act as UK marketing representative for its range of pharmaceutical machinery.

The Chamunda range includes the Alpha single rotary tablet press for high-speed tableting operations. The Alpha is capable of outputs up to 250,000 tablets per hour according to tooling, with a maximum diameter of 16mm. Available in 30, 37 and 47 station versions and designed and manufactured to cGMP standards, the Alpha comes complete with its own integral PLC control system operated through a user friendly touch-screen.
For operations producing small batches, a single rotary press is available for up to 55,000 tablets per hour. This machine is suitable for tablets from 16mm to 25mm, with 16, 20 and 23 station versions. A 12-station model can also be applied to produce tablets up to 40mm in diameter at a maximum rate of 15,000 pieces/hour.
The Chamunda range also includes a series of state-of-the-art fluidised bed driers and processors with chamber volumes of up to 475 litres, permitting the processing of batches up to 200kg per cycle.
Chamunda is already a well-established supplier in the Far Eastern markets and in the US and views the appointment of Robin Engineering as an important step in achieving similar market penetration in the UK and Europe. Its machines are said to offer recognis-able economic benefits when compared with similar machines already available in the UK market.
