US-based drug developer Samaritan Pharmaceuticals has appointed Dr Christos Dakas to head-up its planned European office, Samaritan Europe, in Athens, Greece.
US-based drug developer Samaritan Pharmaceuticals has appointed Dr Christos Dakas to head-up its planned European office, Samaritan Europe, in Athens, Greece.
Samaritan's pipeline includes drugs for AIDS, Alzheimer's, CNS, cancer and cardiovascular disease, and the company is currently advancing eight promising compounds in collaboration with Georgetown University.
As md, Dakas will oversee European operations, including Samaritan Ireland Pharmaceuticals. He brings a wealth of experience in licensing deals and the successful marketing of niche products in south-east Europe, having worked for companies such as Biogen, Chiron and Viragen. Prior to joining Samaritan he held various executive positions with Gerolymatos, Genesis Pharma, and most recently Arriani Pharmaceuticals.
