Sartorius has acquired a 100% stake in Omnimark Instrument Corporation based in Tempe, Arizona, US.


Sartorius has acquired a 100% stake in Omnimark Instrument Corporation based in Tempe, Arizona, US.

Omnimark, founded in 1991, distributes special moisture analysers for quality assurance in the chemical and food industries. A market leader in the 'premium moisture analszer segment' in North America, earning US$3m in sales revenue in 2004, it has supplied its customers with Sartorius moisture analysis equipment for several years.

Dr. Joachim Kreuzburg, ceo of the Sartorius Group, has assessed the takeover as 'a relatively small acquisition, which can be quickly integrated into the Sartorius Group, yet one of strategic significance, strengthening our presence in one of our most important regional target markets and with several of our major customer groups.

'The objective behind this acquisition is to make Omnimark products and services available on our global Sartorius sales platform.'

The Sartorius Group, based in Goettingen, Germany, is an international laboratory and process technology supplier covering the biotechnology and mechatronics sectors, focusing specifically on filtration and separation products; bioreactors and proteomics; and weighing, measurement and automation technology. The company has its own production facilities in Europe, Asia and the US, as well as sales subsidiaries and local commercial agencies in more than 110 countries.
