Scale with printer just the ticket

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Universal Products has added a DH2003D pallet truck scale to its growing stock of weighing and analytical equipment, which was supplied by Mettler Toledo.

The pallet truck scale is the first to be supplied by Mettler Toledo with a printer. Used on pharmaceutical production lines, it is used to weigh out bulky liquids such as glucose or sorbitol. Containers are placed on the pallet truck scale and the quantity added to the production process is calculated on a weigh-by-difference basis. Tickets confirming the quantity of liquid added are then printed out and attached to the manufacturing docket.

The scale is also used as a set of load cells in situations where batches of less than one tonne are being produced with tickets to show intermediate weights and final batch production quantities.

According to Paul Harris of Universal Products, the scale has helped improve production accuracy. 'Because the machines are calibrated, we can produce more accurate production documentation,' he said.
