Sensirion, a Swiss supplier of sensor components and systems, has launched a flow sensor for flow rates below 100 ml/min.

The SLQ-HC60 is said to fill the gap between sensors for high flow rates and Sensirion's own line of microsensor products for the microlitre and nanolitre ranges.

The new water-resistant flow meter operates without moving parts and can also detect bubbles in the microlitre range.

The MEMS-based device is specifically designed for use in automated systems and allows precise measurement of dynamic flow rates with a response time of less than 50ms. It requires a supply voltage of 24V and provides a 0-10V analogue output signal. Media separation ensures that liquids only get into contact with glass, PEEKTM and Tefzel during the measuring process. Protection rating is IP65.

The simple, straight flow channel of the SLQ-HC60 has an inside diameter of 1.8mm and can be connected to 3mm plastic hoses via threaded couplings.
