Sigma sues Pan for A$1m

Published: 1-Aug-2003

Sigma Corporation, of Australia, is to sue Pan Pharmaceuticals for A$1m (€0.6m) to recover costs arising from Australia's biggest health-product recall. Ceo Elmo de Alwis said: 'The cost to Sigma of the recall ordered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration would be between A$500,000 and A$1m, depending on the amount of product returned from retailers.'

He said that Sigma remained interested in acquiring Pan's assets, particularly its factory at Moorebank in Sydney, but not its business, and planned to meet Pan administrator Tony McGrath to discuss options.
