Size and shape in a new light

German optical particle measurement specialist Retsch has introduced the Camsizer which, it claims, improves and optimises particle analysis by digital image processing. The use of two digital cameras makes it possible to measure a wide range of particles from 30µm to 30mm extremely accurately, without having to switch measuring ranges or make adjustments.

The Camsizer's new LongLife light source ensures a long working life of the illumination unit. After each measurement the intensity is reduced and the light source switched to standby mode. When a new measurement starts, the light is automatically activated.

An optional automatic height adjustment of the filling hopper guarantees correct feeding of the sample and eliminates manual working steps, resulting in repeatable and reproducible results.

This feature is valuable when the Camsizer is used together with an AutoSampler for automatic sample feeding, as well as for the lab version of the equipment when materials with different size distributions have to be measured.
