Italy's Marchesini Group were represented by a large stand at the show, with a focus on the solids-handling MB430 blister line, as well as the MS235 sachet vertical filling/sealing machine, and its Robocombi innovation.

The MB430 produces up to 300 blister tiles a minute and is designed with flexibility in mind. Each unit has its own servo-motor enabling separate regulation. Other features include the self-centring forming step, an innovative fluid film path, and the ability for the user to remove the feeder for cleaning and size change-overs

Robocombi, a recently designed automaton, then picks up the blister tiles and transfers them to the MA255 cartoner in line, and onwards to the Multipack FA04 carton bander/bundler.

Ensuring that there is an accurate dose in every sachet is one of the benefits that the company claims for its MS235. In addition, when the length of a sachet changes, a parameter on the display can be quickly edited. The machine can be used in line with the MA80 cartoner, a cantilever intermittent-motion machine, flexible and adaptable to different pharmaceutical products, with a top speed of 80-85 cartons a minute.

Marchesini also displayed a number of machines from its partner company Neri, including the BL600 linear labeller.
