Silvon has launched Stratum Demand Planner, a new demand management and forecasting capability within Stratum. The planner extends the scope of analytical applications from the established departmental spheres (see figure 1).

Using Stratum Demand Planner, 'what if' analysis of sales forecasts and promotional budgets can be undertaken against the backdrop of 100% real time inventory visibility or customer service performance indicators. Stratum's exception management capabilities enable users to manage forecast exceptions quickly and efficiently by automating exception notifications and actions to relevant personnel. Utilising the closed loop processing functionality enables users immediately to activate analytical business decisions taken within Stratum Demand Planner, back in the organisation's ERP or transaction system.

Mike Hennel believes that Stratum Demand Planner offers organisations much more than traditional business intelligence: 'Stratum Demand Planner transforms business intelligence from a passive, reflective, individual activity into an immediately proactive and collaborative one, both internally and externally.
