Thermo Fisher Scientific has installed a Darwin LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), specifically designed for pharmaceutical manufacturing and r&d, at Eurofarma in Brazil.
The installation will enable Eurofarma, the third largest pharmaceutical company in Brazil, to standardise processes across its multi-laboratory infrastructure, automate operations and consolidate data management in a single LIMS across its manufacturing facilities. The installation will also help contain costs and improve efficiencies as the company continues to grow.
Eurofarma has also installed a Thermo Scientific Atlas CDS, an enterprise-level chromatography data system.
The company specialises in drugs for human and veterinary use.
The batch and product-oriented design of the Darwin LIMS aligns directly with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, allowing r&d and production data to be organised, summarised and reported. The system also includes built-in, dashboard-ready functionality to allow pharmaceutical lab managers to make faster, more informed decisions.
The Atlas chromatography data system controls hundreds of instruments from a variety of vendors in compliance with FDA regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11.
