Three-way co-operation results in safe manufacturing

Engineers from three Hosokawa companies - Hosokawa Micron BV in the Netherlands, Hosokawa Micron Ltd in the UK and Hosokawa Alpine AG - have worked closely together with a Dutch customer to enable the pharmaceutical company to manufacture small batches of highly potent pharma products with full operator safety and product integrity with an existing process room.

Hosokawa designed and built a mobile, stand-alone multiprocessor isolator unit,

containing three different types of mill, the collection filter and all necessary ancillaries and controls. The unit can be removed from the process room into a special clean-down area. Three-dimensional modelling and construction of a wooden mock-up were used to enable ergonomic assessment of the design to be carried out.
