UK drug update

Generics UK has added the following to its range of generic products: 10mg, 40mg, 80mg and 160mg tablets of the beta-blocker propranolol; 30mg tablets of the opiate dihydrocodeine; 100mg and 300mg tablets of the xanthine oxidase inhibitor allopurinol; 250mg and 500mg capsules of the cephalosporin cephalexin; 20mg and 40mg tablets of the loop diuretic frusemide; 300mg tablets of the antimalarials quinine bisulphate and quinine sulphate; and 40mg, 80mg, 120mg and 160mg tablets of the calcium antagonist verapamil.

Schering Health Care has launched MabCampath infusion. The product contains 10mg/ml of the monoclonal antibody alemtuzumab.

Dominion Pharma has marketed 50mg capsules of the opiate analogue tramadol hydrochloride.

Roche Products has made available 250mg film-coated tablets of Viracept, containing the protease inhibitor nelfinavir.
