UTEK increases research opportunities

US technology transfer company UTEK Corporation has acquired the business and assets of Pharma-Transfer, a UK-based pharmaceutical research firm.


US technology transfer company UTEK Corporation has acquired the business and assets of Pharma-Transfer, a UK-based pharmaceutical research firm.

Pharma-Transfer, which has more than 3,000 research and development opportunities in its database, was established in 1998 to track the r&d efforts of leading universities, research institutions and life science companies, with the aim of locating and delivering advanced technology acquisition opportunities to corporate subscribers in the pharmaceutical industry.

'As part of our mission to become a world-leader in technology-transfer, it is necessary that we have a robust and diversified supply of new technologies for our customers to license,' said Dr Clifford M. Gross, UTEK's chairman and ceo. 'The Pharma-Transfer acquisition assists us in achieving this goal.'
