Viable automated inspection

The launch of Inex Vision System's InSpect family of comparative vision inspection equipment and systems has made automated inspection viable both for smaller companies and for short runs. InSpect can perform a range of automated vision inspection processes from the simplest to the most complex, the Manchester-based company says.

Lighting, optics, image acquisition, product rejection and structural hardware are all part of the standard package. The system accommodates as many inspection cameras as required and will soon be developed to detect out-of-specification colour variations as well as faulty printing, omission of batch number and/or use-by date, wrinkled labels and damaged cartons.

It is said to be simple to set up and easy to switch from one inspection task to another. Ethernet capability means that systems can be networked to each other as well as to plant-wide automation systems.
