Watson-Marlow adds direct-coupled hose pumps

Watson-Marlow Bredel has added two SPX direct-coupled hose pumps to its range. The new SPX10 and SPX15 models, designed to fit 10mm and 15mm hoses respectively, are said to offer improved durability, ease of maintenance and a 30% smaller footprint than previous pumps.

At the heart of the patented direct-coupled design is a strong, twin-bearing hub integrated into the pumphead. The rotor is supported by its own bearings, whereas with close-coupled pumps the forces have to be absorbed by the gearbox bearings. Time required to change the hose has been significantly reduced by simpler hose clamping and flange design. The pumps conform to EHEDG and ATEX standards.
