Accera appoints Charles Stacey as President and CEO

US neuroscience company is focused on Phase III development programme in Alzheimer's disease

Accera, a clinical stage biotechnology firm based in Bloomfield, Colorado in the US, has appointed Charles Stacey as President and Chief Executive.

The company specialises in developing therapies for central nervous system disorders.

Prior to joining Accera, Stacey was a senior investment manager with London-based Inventages, a life sciences-focused venture capital and private equity firm, where he managed global investments in biotechnology, medical device and healthcare information technology companies, and provided company management teams with business advice. During this time, Stacey provided strategic direction to Accera as an investor.

Before this, he was co-founder of Flexycast, a medical device company in the UK.

Stacey started his healthcare career as a surgeon with a specialisation in reconstructive and orthopaedic surgery in London.
