Bayer develops software suite to automate intralogistics
The new solutions for logistics execution will be on show at LogiMAT in Stuttgart this February
Bayer Technology Services (BTS) has developed a software suite for logistics execution called the LEXSY (Logistics EXecution SYstem). The suite automates the management of all internal logistics flows, from filling and packaging to warehousing and shipping.
The software forms the interface between the ERP level (enterprise resource planning) and the operating equipment, such as filling systems, conveyor technology, palletising, picking and shipping systems, and can be easily integrated into existing process landscapes.
According to BTS, the LEXSY Suite offers a cost-effective solution that fits perfectly into the processes of the chemical industry.
The modular structure allows the modules LEXSY Pack (automation of the filling and packaging process), LEXSY Receive (receiving), LEXSY Mobile (production supply/coordination of internal transports) and LEXSY Ship (warehousing, picking and shipping) to be implemented individually or as a complete intralogistics solution.
Thanks to the modular design of the LEXSY suite, the LEXSY LabelPrint module can also be integrated into a LEXSY complete solution.
The LEXSY LabelPrint module was developed by BTS with the chemical industry’s exacting requirements with respect to industrial product labelling and product tracking in mind. It has already become the worldwide standard for Bayer MaterialScience and LANXESS.
The great advantage of LEXSY LabelPrint is the support of Globally Harmonised System (GHS) regulation. Product and shipping labels are printed just in time based on the data from the ERP system. Country-specific hazardous goods and transport regulations are combined with the language required, and combination labels including product and shipping labels can also be printed as desired.
