Bio-Rad expands precision oncology research portfolio for advanced molecular analysis workflows

Expanded portfolio Includes new droplet digital PCR assays, Reagents and technologies to support oncology research applications and extend the capabilities of the QX700 ddPCR systems

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: BIO and BIO.B), a global leader in life science research and clinical diagnostics products, today announced the expansion of its precision oncology research portfolio. The new assays available for use with the QX700 ddPCR systems provide researchers with additional tools designed to support mutation detection research, liquid biopsy workflows, tumor-informed assay development, molecular residual disease (MRD) research, and multiplex biomarker analysis.

QX700 oncology assays

Expanding the oncology assay menu available for the QX700 systems, Bio-Rad has launched the QX700 ddPCR EGFR Exon 19 Deletions Screening Kit and QX700 ddPCR KRAS G12/G13 Screening Kit. The new assays optimised for use with the QX700 systems are intended to support research involving EGFR and KRAS mutations across multiple solid tumour research applications.

Dark Probe Mutation Detection Assays

Fully compatible across Bio-Rad’s family of QX systems, Dark Probe Mutation Detection Assays are additional tools that can help advance translational research in oncology applications, especially for liquid biopsy mutation detection and monitoring in liquid, MRD, liquid biopsy and translational research workflows. Designed to replace the wild-type fluorescent probe in existing ddPCR workflows, quencher-only dark probes suppress wild-type background and free a detection channel allowing up to four mutation targets to be analysed in a single well, increasing multiplexing capabilities and reducing demand for sample volume.

CrystalTag technology

Thirteen oncology focused ddPLEXCrystalTag ddPCR Assays and CrystalTag Reporters will be available soon. Bio-Rad’s CrystalTag technology separates target recognition from signal generation, enabling flexible assay design and multiplexed detection of up to 21 targets in a single reaction well on the QX700 platform, and supporting efficient development of custom research workflows. These new solutions, including assays for mutation detection of the ESR1 mutation, KRAS mutations, and HPV, enable high-plex ddPCR research across translational research, biomarker discovery, biopharmaceutical research, and advanced multiplex assay development.

With this expanded menu of QX700 ddPCR assays and technologies, researchers can design more powerful multiplex assays and analyse biomarkers with highly sensitive, absolute quantification, all in scalable, streamlined workflows. Together with our continued investment in CrystalTag technology, this launch underscores Bio-Rad’s commitment to advancing oncology research.
