EMA to co-operate with Swiss inspection body

Published: 18-Feb-2011

Agreement will last for two years

A co-operation agreement has been struck between the international Switzerland-based Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

Both sides will work together in training medicine inspectors; participate in each other’s meetings; exchange information, especially on good manufacturing and distribution practice; and also in auditing pharmaceutical industry inspectorates.

The agreement will last two years and then be reviewed.

The parties say the aim of the deal is to share resources and avoid duplication of activities.
