US firm hires recruitment firm to find a successor

GenVec, a US biopharmaceutical company that uses differentiated, proprietary technologies to create therapeutics and vaccines, says Paul Fischer plans to retire as president and chief executive. Dr Fischer will continue in the role until a successor is named and the ceo transition is complete. The Board will use Spencer Stuart, an executive search firm, to advise it on potential candidates.

Fischer has been with the Gathersburg, MD firm for 15 years.
