Invisible codes save lost product
Domino's method for invisibly coding products is saving pharmaceutical companies money, according to the company.
Nude Package Tracking Technology consists of a dot matrix code printed with UV light-readable ink. This enables products such as vials to by sent out carrying unseen identification, ready to be coded with country-specific marking. The invisible tracking code ensures the product does not get lost in transit, yet it does not interfere with market appearance.
Before nude coding was developed, unmarked products were sealed in coded boxes for lot and expiry data identification. If the boxes were opened or damaged in transit, the entire contents would have to be discarded because their authenticity and lot code could not be verified.
