International Specialty Products (ISP), a US-based supplier of speciality chemicals, is opening of a new state-of-the-art pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 2,700ft2 facility will support ISP's growing pharmaceutical ingredients and service business within the EMEA region.
It will serve as a centre of excellence for ISP's Advantia tablet coating systems and is equipped to support ISP's Plasdone and Polyplasdone ranges of excipient products.
The dedicated laboratory staff can support customer requirements in a number of disciplines including colour matching, pre-formulation, delivery system design, process improvements, drug uniformity, dosage form development, solubility, sieve analysis, disintegration and dissolution.
'ISP's investment in this facility will enable us to significantly enhance the technical service offering to our customers within the EMEA region,' said Dr Mark McCart, ISP pharmaceutical new business development director for the EMEA region.
ISP has dedicated the laboratory to the memory of the late Dr Helmut Rackur, whose early pioneering work promoting the benefits of ISP excipients was integral to the success of many ISP technology platforms and ultimately led to the conception of the Istanbul pharmaceutical laboratory.
