South Korean company LG Chem Investment is to cooperate with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical, of Japan, in researching and developing new drugs. Initially the two companies will search for drug candidates in the areas of obesity and hyperlipemia. By working together, they aim to speed up the r&d process and bring a wide range of products quickly to market. The term of the agreement is three years, and they may decide to widen it into other areas.
