MedPharm signs commercial site transfer deal with "global pharma company"

The agreement will see MedPharm support the transfer and commercial manufacture of an undisclosed branded speciality topical pharmaceutical product at its North Carolina facility

MedPharm has signed an agreement with a global pharmaceutical company to support the commercial site transfer and manufacture of a branded speciality topical pharma product.

MedPharm did not disclose the pharma company or the product, instead describing the customer as a “cornerstone client” moving an established branded speciality pharma product to its Durham, North Carolina, facility.

The Durham site supports GMP clinical and commercial drug product manufacturing and includes capabilities spanning formulation, process development, manufacturing, packaging, testing and release.

This latest agreement follows a successful FDA inspection of the site's commercial manufacturing facility earlier this year.

Under the agreement, MedPharm will provide technical transfer services to support commercial production.

The deal is expected to generate technology transfer revenues for MedPharm in 2026 and 2027, followed by commercial manufacturing revenues in 2027.

The agreement is the fifth commercial deal MedPharm has announced in the past year and a half, as it continues to build its commercial manufacturing portfolio in topical and transdermal pharmaceuticals.

MedPharm has also expanded its analytical capabilities this year, becoming an Olink Certified Service Provider in August to offer targeted multiplex protein biomarker analysis alongside its existing drug development and testing services.
