Navin Molecular, an Indian-headquartered CDMO with world-class small molecule development and manufacturing capabilities, announces that its Dewas site has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis.
This is in recognition of the company’s sustainability management system through its policies, actions and results.
The Dewas site has seen direct investment in the upgrade of its zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system, as well as technology to improve water recovery from effluent, recycling and conservation.
The company’s annual Sustainability Report lays out the corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, and demonstrates the establishment and implementation of practices across areas of the business.
EcoVadis is a ratings platform that assesses a company’s sustainability based on 21 criteria across four themes: environmental, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The scorecard identifies a company’s strengths and improvement areas, giving a benchmark and globally recognised rating to its achievements.
Since 2007, EcoVadis has created a global network of more than 130,000 rated companies.
“This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team at Dewas, and the commitment we have to drive sustainable innovation,” commented A Navin spokesperson.
“Since we were awarded the bronze medal 3 years ago, we have worked hard towards both short and long-term goals ... and invested in technology and process initiatives to ensure that quantifiable results can be realised, and Navin Molecular can be an industry leader in this field.”
