C2 Pharma nominated for 2017 CPhI Pharma Award for corporate social responsibility

The CPhI Award nomination is for the company’s Partnership for a Better World project

C2 Pharma has been nominated again for a CPhI Award, in the category — Excellence in Pharma: Corporate Social Responsibility for the project Partnership for a Better World.

This is the second year in succession that the company has been in the running for the Award.

C2 Pharma is the key financial sponsor of the Partnership for a Better World programme that supports thousands of families in Brazil involved in the wild harvesting of native plants used for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) such as pilocarpine.

Created in 2003, the core principles of the programme are to actively incorporate and promote ethical trade and sustainability concepts into the harvesting process.

The Partnership for a Better World programme has brought meaningful and tangible benefits to thousands of disadvantaged families for the past 14 years of its existence, while at the same time improving the eco-system around various plants.

It is a demonstration that economics and environmental stewardship can go hand-in-hand when all parties involved in the supply chain of an API are willing to contribute.

In 2015 C2 Pharma won the CPhI Pharma Award for Excellence in Partnering & Outsourcing for its work around the takeover of the phytochemical portfolio of APIs from Boehringer Ingelheim.
