Automation service provider Omron has entered into a strategic partnership with Cognizant to incorporate information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) into its client's processes.
The companies will offer this service to customers within the manufacturing industry, with Cognizant acting as the engineering partner for Omron's Industrial Automation Business products.
Together, the duo aim to be a one-stop solution for the pharmaceutical industry's digital transformation needs — combining Omron's OT products like sensors, controllers, robots and safety equipment with Cognizant's AI, IoT and digital twin technologies.
By providing their clients with integrate IT/OT offerings, they will improve the flexibility and agility of internal and external operations and maintenance.
By combining the power of IT and OT, Omron and Cognizant note that manufacturers can optimise workforce efficiency, enhance productivity and improve sustainability credentials.
