One-way rental for reusable, temperature-controlled pharma packaging

Pharmafreight and KryoTrans International have launched a one-way rental system from the UK to the US, or from the US to the UK, for KryoTrans reusable temperature-controlled packaging for pharmaceutical products.


Pharmafreight and KryoTrans International have launched a one-way rental system from the UK to the US, or from the US to the UK, for KryoTrans reusable temperature-controlled packaging for pharmaceutical products.

Pharmafreight, a specialist freight forwarder, and reusable temperature-controlled packaging manufacturer KryoTrans International, have developed the TOWER (The One Way Easy Rental) system to allow customers to pay only for the one-way hire of a KryoTrans container.

Customers can select any unit from the KryoTrans range, choose a suitable hire period and container, and either collect it from the KryoTrans hub close to London Heathrow airport in the UK, or from one of the Pharmafreight US locations in New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Once it has been shipped and the product delivered, the empty container just needs to be returned to its closest hub.

Pharmafreight is also offering a door-to-door shipping service using the KryoTrans units, in which its staff and offices will organise pharma shipments with full temperature-compliance in the containers.

The service will launch in the US but it is intended that European and South American hubs will soon follow.

KryoTrans" Chris Pollard said: "We are convinced that this simple new UK/US service can make the KryoTrans range even easier to access for a wider client base."

KryoTrans will be working with Pharmafreight's US representative, Unitrans International Corporation, which will provide the US hubs.
