Pharmaceutical process solutions provider Optima Pharma is expanding its operations in the key German market through three construction projects.
This follows the company's acquisition of an additional building at its Schwaebisch Hall site, which the company believes is "an important step towards further growth and the efficient implementation of complex customer projects," according to a press release.
The new 4,800m2 building has been specifically equipped to handle pharmaceutical machine construction, offering additional capacity for the production of filling systems with incorporated isolators.
Optima estimates that the first machines will move into the new hall this month.
“We have a strong order book for our filling systems with isolators, which are becoming increasingly larger and more complex with longer project lead times," noted Hans Buehler, Managing Partner of the Optima Group.
"By expanding our capacity, we can keep up with increasing demand, offering our customers complete reliability," he added.
In addition to Schwaebisch Hall, two further construction projects in Germany are underway; one in Radolfzell and one in Gladenbach.
In Radolfzell, Optima is building a new assembly hall for isolators, as well as an administration building, while in Gladenbach the company is expanding its freeze dryer assembling capacity by 50%.
Optima is also expanding teams at all its locations — including international sites.
"Our capacity expansion serves the sole purpose of ensuring our customers have access to the services they need, thus making our investments an important contribution to medical care worldwide," concluded Optima's CEO, Dr Johannes-Thomas Grobe.
