Powder Systems (PSL) has beaten Eli Lilly and Getrag Ford to the Exporter of the Year award at the Daily Post Business Awards.
PSL designs and builds high-containment pharmaceutical process equipment for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries across the globe. Over 85% of its production is exported.
Its first ever order was from Eli Lilly in Kinsale, Ireland in 1989, and Ireland has remained an important market for the company ever since. America represents the largest portion of its exported business, accounting for almost 50% of all exports. Other international markets include Singapore, Japan, France, Germany, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Spain.
PSL has a multi-cultural workplace, with many language skills in house and foreign language project managers ensuring language is no barrier to international customers.
The award will be housed in PSL's trophy cabinet alongside a Queen's award for export, several Inner City 100 awards (sponsored by Gordon Brown) and the Smart award for innovation.
