Roche has purchased a Newman Labelling Systems CTE350 for its facility in Uruguay's capital Montevideo.

The CTE350 - a compact, fully automatic self adhesive labeller - has been introduced to an existing production line that was previously used for packaging products without labels. The line has now been adapted to pack and label pharmaceutical solid oral dosage medicine in blisters and cartons.

It has helped save Roche labour cost, as these products were being manually labeled, Newman says.

Designed specifically for the pharmaceutical industry, Newman's CTE350 can apply a wide range of self-adhesive tamper-evident, anti-counterfeit and hologram labels. It operates at speeds of up to 350 cartons a minute and can handle a range of different cartons without the need for change parts.

At 1.3m long, the CTE350 is designed to integrate into lines where space is at a premium.
