The Landmark dose counter developed by Valois Pharma, has won the 2007 prize for Innovation in Aerosol Package Design, awarded by the European Aerosol Federation (FEA).
Landmark was developed in response to US FDA guidelines obliging the pharmaceutical industry to incorporate dose counters in all new pMDIs (pressurised Metered Dose Inhalers) on the US market. It can be fitted to any design of pMDI and adapted to suit any number of doses. A digit and colour system is used to indicate the precise number of doses of medication remaining in the inhaler.
Several pharmaceutical products incorporating Landmark are at an advanced development stage, and the first of these could be on the market in two years" time.
