Weighing up the benchtop benefits

Quay Pharmaceutical, a UK company specialising in the manufacture of small batches of tablets and capsules for clinical trials, has installed a SADE Benchtop tablet and capsule weigh sorter from Salisbury-based CI Electronics. The equipment means that up to two days of work can be saved on a single project by replacing manual inspection with automatic checking.

The SADE Benchtop unit has a small footprint, can be easily adapted to handle different sizes and shapes, and can be cleaned down quickly and easily between batches.

'With clinical trials regulations being tightened, the SADE has provided us with an extra safety net,' said Quay's Dr Rob Harris. 'We know at any one time that our processes are good and we can complete projects much sooner without waiting for the manual checks.
