US scientists have suggested treating tick-infested humans and animals with antibiotics.

US scientists have suggested treating tick-infested humans and animals with antibiotics.

A University of California - Irvine study has found nymph ticks contain high levels of bacteria as inbuilt nutrition. In tests, nymphs given antibiotics gained less weight than control ticks, and these females also took longer to lay eggs, hatched fewer eggs and produced fewer larvae.
