The Atlas syringe pump from UK chemistry automation product supplier, Syrris, based in Royston, Hertfordshire, consists of two syringes, with up to six port valves. It can provide two independent refilling flows, one continuous flow, reaction sampling, advanced pH control, as well as temperature-dependent dosing. Each syringe can be used to aspirate from, or dispense to the pump, allowing the two syringes to be configured in a variety of ways.
With a flow rate from 0.5-10ml/min, this compact system is said to have excellent chemical compatibility as the wetted parts are manufactured in glass, PTFE and PCTFE. The addition of automated reagent provides users with the option to dispense simply by volume or flow rate over a given period of time, or to create advanced flow profiles.
The pump can be operated as a stand-alone system, or connected to a Reactor Master (for automation of jacketed reactor systems), an Atlas Base, or controlled by a PC. It can also be connected to Atlas pH or temperature sensors for control based on these parameters. Control of pumping based on stirrer speed or turbidity is also possible when operated using PC software.
