Automation for IBC cleaning
A new system for bulk container cleaning within the pharmaceutical industry that ensures total product containment has been developed by Swiss company Hamo.
The Hamo T-BCC system is suitable for containers ranging in size from 100 - 2,400l and the custom designed carriers mean that kegs, pallets and large machine parts can be cleaned in accordance with prevailing regulatory standards.
It is self-cleaning, constructed in accordance with the latest pharmaceutical industry standards, and conforms to both cGMP and GAMP3. All materials and components that come into contact with the cleaning process are made from materials that conform to FDA and BN2 standards, notably 316L stainless steel.
The T-BCC features a fully automatic loading and unloading system, and a 15in colour touch screen is used to create and visualise the wash programmes. An industry standard PC operating Windows NT through a bus system forms the basis for controlling the system, using Allen Bradley or Siemens controllers. A barcode system allows fully automated programme selection.
