Clean project for Conveyor Systems

Published: 1-Jun-2003

Two inspection and packing lines for use in a cleanroom environment at a major pharmaceutical company have been designed, built and installed by Conveyor Systems (CSL). Each line is used to convey clear ampoules of eye drops from form/fill/seal machines to 10 work stations where they are inspected and packed.

The first conveyor to be built was a 9m long stainless steel belt conveyor fitted with stainless steel workbench stations either side of the line. These work tables were subsequently replaced by 900mm wide non-reflective 500 grade high molecular weight polyethylene, as used on the second line. The conveyors are fitted with a 300mm wide food quality belt driven by motorised drums, which are inverter controlled to synchronise the speed of the conveyor with inspection operations.
