The newly renamed European Medicines Agency (EMA) has asked for comments on its 'road map to 2010: preparing the ground for the future'.


The newly renamed European Medicines Agency (EMA) has asked for comments on its 'road map to 2010: preparing the ground for the future'.

It outlines the agency's strategy to 'further develop as one of the world's foremost regulatory authorities for medicinal products, which is public health-oriented, science-driven and transparent'.

The paper focuses on EMA's twin approach to better protect and inform patients, while encouraging innovation and research in an enlarged European Union. It says the agency will stress its duties towards medicine users in the next six years and will especially work towards helping small and medium-sized companies.
