Commission requests patent info from pharma companies

Move is part of wider inquiry into competition in the pharma sector


A formal request has been sent to EU pharmaceutical companies by the European Commission for copies of patent settlement agreements concluded with generic manufacturers.

The probe is restricted to deals in the EU and associated countries Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein and is part of a wider Commission competition inquiry covering the sector.
